No it should not. If it is pressed correctly and you can see the image when it is fresh, it will last when it is dry. We have tested this numerous times and all of the stamps we provide hold the image once dry. In our opinion once the stamped image drys I think it looks more pronounced than when wet.

Normally it can go through 2-3 layers on average. The thinner the paper the more layers it will go through, but 2-3 is common. Many people used a wet faucet to stamp the papers edge, and this old method would cause the stamp to go through many layers, these stamps do not.
